A restored 1800s barn on 25 acres in Scarborough, and the rare Maine barn venue that is genuinely close to everything — ten minutes from downtown Portland and from the Jetport, a few miles from the beaches and a large supply of hotels. If half your guest list is flying in, that combination is hard to beat.
The barn is window-laden and takes up to 225, with ceremony benches for 250, an open-air post-and-beam porch of 16 by 30 feet facing the brook and pond, and a 45 by 55 foot patio for ceremonies, tents or cocktails. There are multiple ceremony sites and two patios.
What makes it a weekend rather than an afternoon is the housing: a five-bedroom farmhouse and a five-bedroom guest house, both rentable Wednesday through Monday. Rehearsal dinner on site is an option for up to 30, and they do a Sunday brunch. Owned by Bridget and Steve, who live in the town.
